A bandwidth-efficient channel allocation scheme for mitigating FWM in ultra-dense WDM-PON

In this paper, we investigate four-wave mixing (FWM) effects in the ultra-dense wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network (UDWDM-PON) system and propose an efficient channel allocation scheme to mitigate the FWM impact. This scheme is formed by grouping signal channels into several blocks with different channel spacing. Through numerical analysis and simulations, our proposed scheme is verified to be able to reduce the FWM effects and have higher bandwidth efficiency than the traditional unequal channel allocation scheme. The simulation results also demonstrate that our proposed scheme can achieve nearly 4 dB increases in optical power budget of the UDWDM-PON systems at the BER of 1e−3, in comparison with the equal spaced channel scheme.     

Tunable and reconfigurable microwave photonic filter based on cascaded modulation for multi-taps generation

In this paper, a theoretical analysis and experiment to obtain the tunable and reconfigurable microwave photonic filter is proposed. The sidebands generated by cascaded modulation serve as the multi-taps, and then the reconfigurability and tunability can be realized by adjusting the operating condition of intensity modulators and the optical phase shifting between modulators.     

All-optical wavelength conversion for 10-Gb/s NRZ payload and 2.5-Gb/s OFDM label in optical-packet-switched network

Simultaneous wavelength conversion based on four-wave mixing (FWM) for 10-Gb/s NRZ payload and 2.5-Gb/s OFDM label signals in optical switching network is experimentally demonstrated. The dual-pump scheme based on FWM in semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is employed and simultaneous wavelength conversion for optical packet with one optical payload of 10-Gb/s non-return-to-zero (NRZ) on-off keying (OOK) signals and one optical label of 2.5-Gb/s OFDM signals are realized. The bit-error-rate performance is evaluated for both payload and label after wavelength conversion.     

Generation of a reference frequency comb by cascaded four-wave mixing enhanced by Raman amplification

The generation of standard reference frequencies close to the ITU channels is essential for the frequency calibration of DWDM systems. This paper describes the generation of a reference frequency comb based on the combination of a cascaded four-wave mixing in two semiconductor optical amplifiers and Raman amplification in a dispersion-shifted optical fiber. As a result we have achieved a stable frequency comb with 36 reference lines separated by a constant frequency spacing of 177 GHz. The seed of the comb is combination of two narrow-linewidth semiconductor lasers which are locked to two absorption lines of the acetylene (¹²C₂H₂).     

碳化硅指向反射镜轴的高精度镶接技术研究

碳化硅具有优异的热学性能和机械性能,是高性能空间光学应用中的优选材料。但由于它的硬度很高,使得碳化硅反射镜的高精度加工和装配变得很困难。为了提高碳化硅反射镜与两个镜轴固接后的位置精度,采用了结合衬套修正的偏心轴补偿镶接方案。结果表明,这种方法可以将镶接完成后的两个镜轴的同轴度误差降低到0.005mm。由于在镶接过程中仅需要通用的加工设备和工装夹具,因此可以在保证良好经济性的前提下提高碳化硅反射镜的装配精度。     

Intramolecular coupling study on nonlinear optical signals

 In this contribution, we have introduced intramolecular coupling in order to study possible modifications in the topology of the resonances associated with the four-wave mixing signal emerging as a consequence of incorporating the permanent dipole moments when the rotating-wave approximation is not included. Surface Fixing Effect of Vacuum Evaporated Particles on Polyethylene Single Crystals

Summary: The recrystallization behavior of high density polyethylene (HDPE) single crystals with vacuum evaporated metal chromium or carbon on their surface has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron diffraction (ED) techniques. The results indicate that the particle‐coated HDPE single crystals can retain their single crystal structure after complete melting and subsequent recrystallization, with the heat‐treated temperature as high as 200 °C. This phenomenon is attributed to a surface fixing effect of vacuum evaporated Cr or carbon on the single crystals.

具有非均匀零色散波长光纤中的四波混频

提出了一种分析具有非均匀零色散波长光纤中四波混频(FWM)的简便方法,导出了多段不同零色散波长组成的光纤中和零色散波长连续变化的光纤中四波混频效率的计算公式.实例计算结果表明,光纤中零色散波长分布的不均匀,会影响四波混频效率,特别是在抽运光和检测光波长间隔较大时,影响尤为显著. 关键词： 四波混频 相位匹配 零色散波长     

各向异性光折变光开关的原理

提出了利用光折变的各向异性衍射特性在单块LiNbO3 晶体中建立光折变 2× 2开关组件的方案。为减少记录的各光折变全息组件之间的串扰 ,采用局域热固定。基于衍射效率公式 ,分析最佳衍射效率时入射光强比和写入角之间的关系。所建立的光开关具有小型化和垂直的输入 /输出的特点。     

Double signal phase conjugation with a Cat conjugator

The phase conjugate reflection of double signals, induced by the self-pumped phase conjugation, is demonstrated in a 16° cut Cu-doped potassium sodium strontium barium niobate (KNSBN) photorefractive crystal. The phase conjugate reflectivities of signals were measured versus the pump-signal beam ratio. A comparison was made between the signal's reflectivity with and without the presence of the other signal beam. The multi-region four-wave mixing model within the same crystal has been employed to explain the geometry performance and the experimental results.
